Flood Appeal for World Kindness Day

World Kindness Day is celebrated annually, on November 13. It is a day to celebrate and promote kindness in all its forms. World Kindness Day unites people in kindness globally.
For World Kindness day the Global Action Committee has started a fundraising appeal for Panyaden and Ayuthaya to help with their flood relief. We will raise money all week and it will be collected on Friday. We are asking for donations of 20-40 baht from each student.

We wanted to take this time to tell you about some natural disasters that have happened in Thailand recently and why we have decided to support two causes.

Panyaden International School in Chiang Mai is a green school built from earth and bamboo. It is peacefully located among rice fields. Panyaden is a bilingual school with a Buddhist approach that accommodates 375 students including 10 - 20 percent of local Thai children funded by scholarships.

On October 12, 2017 there was a flash flood which caused flooding of between 30 cm and 1 metre in depth, across Hang Dong areas.
These pictures show some of the damage Panyaden school suffered.

In October of this year, Ayuthaya also experienced flooding.
Here are some pictures of Wat Po School and Khun Wan working with some volunteers to help clean up.

Please encourage your child to bring a donation to their classroom teacher by Friday November 17.

Thank you for your support.
